| An Atarah and Corners for a Bar Mitzvah tallit. The four corners represent abstractions of four mitzvot, Tallit, Torah, Kiddush and Tefillin, that the young man accepts upon reaching this milestone. The Atarah of his tallit is a depiction of the three major pilgrimage holidays, Succot, Pesach and Shavuot, described in his Bar Mitzvah Torah portion. Each holiday appears with its symbols, ritual objects and story. This piece serves as a reminder of the responsibilities and privileges of his faith and will always remind this young man of his special day and of his family's traditions. |
